Hi Hemant Sir, I tried your Gun powder recipe & it was very tasty though i used my own measurements( i didn't know how to reduce the quantity in gms)so it was not that hot.still we liked it. Also tried mulangi keerai recipe,it was simple without much masalas & nice.

Hi Hemant, The other day I tried out Rossogolla. The outcome was sweet and succesful, and heavenly to the palate. (Earlier also I had made Rossogollas, but using some other recipes. Alas, the results were not quite satisfactory). And, I also want to tell you that your rasams(Gounder rasam, Pepper-Jeera rasam) are a delight to many who have tasted and fell in love them! Thank you so much for providing the vital part-the detailed instructions on how to make them. Thanks again for the wonderful recipes...

Hello Hemantji, I have been following your fine recipes for quite sometime now, though this is is the first time I am posting a comment. I read all your postings. Your doing a very good job. Hats off to your real good work!! Thanks,

Hemantji, Wanting to try a simple dish for my first 'chatti samayal' i made your hariyali pili mung dal--- it was SUPER DELICIOUS!!The flavour was wholesome & so very very Yummy...loads of thanks for your input/encouragement.But after just the first use, the bottom of the matka became quite black --how do i clean it? Does it mean the quality of pot is bad? When u can spare some time & if it is not a bother, could u please respond to my previous query?

From: Ramya (@ ac946230.ipt.aol.com) on: Fri Apr 12 10:13:32
Hello Hemantji, After the first hit of Gounder Rasam, I tried some of your recipes.Musalmani Veg. Briyani,Tomato Soup,Ghee Rice with Kurma,Vengaya Sambar,Muttai Kuzhambu,Potato Bhaji,Mix Veg Palaya,Spicy Brinjal Curry,Green Peas Curry are those and they were very tasty. I thought of posting my feedback as soon as I taste the recipe. But I couldn't able to do. Among the recipes, Musalmani Briyani and Tomato soup were great hit. Green peas curry and Mix Veg Palaya were super. Oh! No!... I can't able to say which one is better than the other. 'cos all are tasted good and had variety taste. So, I am going to ask/say the very small issues which I had in the above recipes. In Muttai Kuzhambu, I couldn't make the khasa kasa to a very fine paste. It remained as a whole and it tasted bitter little bit. Potato Bhaji- I overcooked potatoes. so, that's my fault. But with less spice, it tasted different and was good. Vengaya Sambar - It tasted heavenly. My husband started drinking it. Hemantji,I'm not exagerated. It's the truth. Fist I had a doubt of grilling the Onion. I'm in USA and I don't have a griller. I tried in the cooking range itself. I was scared to do but it worked. I don't know how to grill in oven. Today, I am going to try your Kovakkai dry curry. I had a same problem of grinding the mustard to a fine powder. I grinded very very coarsely. Is it ok? Also, as you mentioned, the fine fine aroma of mustard is missing. Is that ok? So, Overall I have a problem of grinding small amount of spices. (I tried in mini blender only)Could you suggest me anything? One more thing.. I forgot to mention earlier. I tasted the Tomato soup in an Indian restaurant here. I was so surprised. 'cos it tasted similar. This is the first time i experienced that a restaurant item is tasted similar to my food. (Actually it's yours..:-) ) I am so happy that I got Hemantji as a great guide. Thanks for the recipes and keep up the good work. Pranam!

Hi Hemant, I tried out your kadhi with the sindhi Aloo basar. It tasted great. The only thing i didn't add to the kadhi was garlic. I am not used to adding garlic in yogurt dishes. Does it alter the taste considerably ?

Hi Hemantji, My guests totally relished the ghee rice which i served with your aromatic (& nostalgic too as it reminded us of our favourite restaurant in India)veg.kurma. I think, no...I'm sure that they will be visiting your corner very soon. Thanks. You had advised in the thread on soft chapathis to roast them on open gas flame directly. If so, then how are phulkas made?

Hemantji: I tried vegetable kurma and it was excellent. I think you were supposed to post the Kurma recipe without adding coconut. Can you please post that? secondly I remember you had mentioned in one of your postings about adding a handful of raw rice to the dosa batter for crisp dosas. That was an excellent tip and the dosas came out very well. Thanks again

Hi Hemant, I spent the whole sunday afternoon at your corner, went right in the beginning, found the sambar podi recepie and also answers to so many questions that were on my mind. One thing I must tell you Hemant, I am very fond of cooking and have collected lots of cookery books and recepies from all possible sources but have always felt that they are sort of incomplete, something real important which makes the difference is missing. Very few people do this, Hats off to you Hemant. I think we all hubbers are lucky to have you as our guide. Thank you very much.
